About Alpine

Alpine is a French sports-car brand founded by Jean Redele in 1955. Its name refers to the Alpine roads where he competed, and its cars have been built in Dieppe.12

The original A110 appeared in 1962. Alpine won the inaugural World Rally Championship for manufacturers in 1973, the year Renault acquired the company. A Renault Alpine A442B won Le Mans in 1978.12

Road-car production ended in 1995 and resumed with a new A110 in 2017. Alpine later entered Formula One under its own name, winning the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.23

The electric A290 hatchback shared the 2025 European Car of the Year award with the Renault 5.4
