About Jeep

Jeep is an American vehicle marque associated with four-wheel-drive utility vehicles. Its civilian CJ models developed from the military Jeep, with later vehicles serving both work and recreational uses.1

The Wagoneer and Gladiator pickup expanded the range in the early 1960s. American Motors acquired Jeep in 1970 and introduced models including the CJ-7.23

The compact Cherokee XJ arrived for 1984, and the Wrangler followed for the 1987 model year. Jeep became part of Chrysler when it acquired American Motors in 1987.4
