About Geo

Geo was an American General Motors marque sold from 1989 to 1997. Its range consisted of small cars and a compact SUV developed with Japanese manufacturers.1

The Metro and Tracker shared their origins with Suzuki vehicles, the Prizm with Toyota and the Storm with Isuzu. Manufacturing included the GM-Toyota NUMMI plant in California and GM-Suzuki CAMI plant in Ontario.12

GM retired the Geo name after 1997. The remaining Metro, Prizm and Tracker continued as Chevrolets for the 1998 model year.3
