About Bentley
Bentley is a British luxury-car manufacturer founded by W. O. Bentley in 1919. Its early cars competed in endurance racing, with five Le Mans victories between 1924 and 1930 and a sixth in 2003.1
Rolls-Royce acquired Bentley in 1931, and Volkswagen acquired the company in 1998. The Mark VI established factory-bodied postwar production, while the R Type Continental paired a lightweight body with high-speed touring capability.1
Later milestones include the V8-powered S2, Mulsanne Turbo, Turbo R and Continental R. The Continental GT, launched in 2003, became a central model in the company’s modern range.12
