About Chrysler
Chrysler is an American car marque founded by Walter P. Chrysler in 1925 through the reorganization of Maxwell Motor Company. The first Chrysler Six had appeared in 1924, before the corporation adopted his name.1
The company introduced Plymouth and DeSoto and acquired Dodge in 1928. Its road-car history includes the streamlined Airflow of 1934 and the Chrysler 300 of 1955.1
Minivans became another major part of the business. Stow ’n Go seats fold into the floor to provide cargo space, while the Pacifica range brought a plug-in hybrid option to Chrysler’s family vehicles.23
The brand marked its centenary in June 2025 as part of Stellantis.4
