About FIAT
FIAT is an Italian car marque founded in Turin in 1899. The name abbreviates Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. Its factories and vehicles played a central role in the expansion of Italian vehicle production.1
Small cars are a recurring part of its history: the Topolino, 600, Nuova 500, 126 and Panda span successive generations of city and family transport. The original Panda, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, was produced from 1980 to 2003.2
The company also developed larger family cars and commercial vehicles. Its 125th-anniversary exhibition in Turin included examples from these ranges alongside its city cars and compact models.3
