About Lotus

Lotus is a British sports-car manufacturer with origins in Colin Chapman’s first trials car of 1948. Lotus Engineering was established in 1952, and the company moved to Hethel, Norfolk, in 1966.1

Its road cars include the Elite, Elan, Esprit and Elise. Lightweight construction and chassis development are recurring features of its engineering, from compact roadsters to mid-engine sports cars.1

The range expanded into battery electric vehicles with the Evija hypercar, Eletre SUV and Emeya four-door grand tourer, alongside the combustion-engine Emira sports car.12
