About Kia
Kia is a South Korean vehicle manufacturer that began in 1944 as Kyungsung Precision Industry, initially making bicycle components and bicycles. It later expanded into motor vehicles and became part of Hyundai Motor Group.1
The Sportage, launched in 1993, helped establish Kia’s SUV range. The company has developed passenger cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles for international markets.12
The EV6, introduced in 2021, was Kia’s first dedicated battery-electric car. It uses the E-GMP platform and won the European Car of the Year award in 2022.3
